Here’s yet another mix from myself. This one is quite outta the ordinary for me.. first mix of the 80s-esque style and such. I spent a week kicking around different tracks and planning, but finally settled on this one. I gotta say that these 80s tracks make really hard transitions, so my style of mixing kinda conflicts a little. I have tons of overlay between tracks, and someone who does little to no overlay will probably get a cleaner result with this type of stuff. After taking a listen, you really can’t hear the overlays as well as I hoped due to dominate bassy lead synths, so some transitions sound like pretty lackluster and lazy cuts when they had been going for a while. Oh well, I still haven’t learned that a square peg doesn’t fit in a round hole. I just really wanted to try something new, and I know quite a few people who will atleast enjoy the track list.

This mix is going to come out on Salacious Sound on Saturday as a part of their weekly mixcasts. On top of that, their own DJ Cal is doing a mix of his own in a similar genre. It’s like friggin christmas around here!

As you probably noticed, it’s not here any more. Salacious Sound, the blog the mix was for, had security issues so they had to reprioritize and push it back a week. In this week I’m going to rerecord it and hopefully add a few goodies to it to make it better. So on the bright this saturday, expect a cleaner mix with some additional content :)

As always I have tons of tracks in the works, but I’m not going to say when they’re going to come out because I’ve consistently been grossly incorrect about release times. No more bogus claims about tracks comin out. So one day, you might just come here and unexpectedly see some new tunes. Who knows.

Rad video from Calvin Harris’ track “You Used to Hold Me”. Shot with some true styleeez, but I gotta say the whole monster truck bit is a little confusing, and I can’t help but feel Mr. Harris comes across as quite a tool. Rather unfortunate cuz he puts out great tunes.
